EAST PALATKA VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPTARTMENT
"EVER VIGILANT, PROUD TO SERVE"
All hazards volunteer fire-rescue department serving the residents and visitors of the greater East Palatka area.
Located in Putnam County, Florida
Who Are We?
We are a diverse group of men and women from all walks of life. We all come from different backgrounds, careers and lifestyles. The majority of us hold other jobs outside of the fire service and sacrifice our spare time to serve the public. We are an all-volunteer organization and receive no paycheck for what we do, only the gratification of serving our community. Our members serve in varying capacities from EMR (emergency medical responder) to driver/operators to firefighters.
What do we do?
The East Palatka Volunteer Fire Department does much more than just extinguish fires. Although that is the bread and butter of our organization, we also respond to medical emergencies, all of our members are trained to the level of an Emergency Medical Responder. We also respond to vehicle accidents, perform vehicle extrications using the jaws of life, mitigate hazardous materials incidents, and participate in community education programs.
We are open to volunteers of all age, training level, and background. We have a position for everyone, from medical responder to firefighter. No experience is needed to join as all training is provided in house.
